I'm curious to know why would anyone want to go with Southern LINC for iDEN wireless service if Sprint Nextel Inc.'s iDEN is available in your market for coverage?

Have you looked at the coverage of Southern Linc versus the coverage of Nextel in Alabama, Mississippi,Florida, and Georgia? Now does that answer your question? Why would ANYONE want to have a service that they would have to use ONLY in a big city or near a MAJOR interstate? I know for myself I have coverage with Southern Linc everywhere I go, even in the woods 😁 Can Nextel say that?? NOPE! I know several people here that has tried Nextel and said even where they were told they would have service it was bad. Nextel just CANT compete in the B.F.E. 😉

Cullman County, Alabama (Close to Smith Lake Dam). Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you, just as I was reading your replies. Southern Linc says there isnt service in our area here, but there is and we get full signal and no problems. Just not inside of a metal mobile home 😕 We had to install a yagi set-up to get signal inside the house. Works wonderful 😁

Their customer service is GREAT! I have only had to call them a few times. Once I called them due to a declining signal in our area, and we thought it may of been our 4 yr old phones 😕 They sent out to our house a very nice tech to not only check our phone but the towers in our area to make sure the towers were not overloaded?!?! He explained it to me as too many people drawing off 1 tower and not spreading out among the towers in the area. He spent about 2 hours here and said the towers were doing fine our phones were in great shape and doing just fine, but do to foilage (tall trees) and it being summer its typical. All this because the bars showing 1 less then normal, isnt Southern Linc Great! Wonder if Nextel would send someone out to ...

Wow I didnt know they offered the prepay unlimited like that. We have 2 on service 39 each a month. I dont quite remember but I think its 500 or 700 mins? a month and unlimited 2way and 1 phone on a prepay account. The prepaid account is about a yr old now and I have only put 75.00 on it other then the initial startup costs. The 2 main phones are used mainly 2way, the prepay is like a emergency phone (babysitter, kids, mother, ect) and has really come in handy!
We drove to Carrolton (sp) Georgia about 3 yr ago and bought a Olds 455 and had no trouble with the Southern Linc service.
Suprisingly we even had Southern Linc service in parts of TN when we went to the mountains for vacation 🙂
(Just for others reading this NO it was not roamin...
