does it have to be a qwest phone?

I am assuming that the answer is yes. seeing how cdma rolls that way. but, if i bought a sprint phone, could i use that on qwest. seeing as it was unlocked and all that. or will qwest not activate it. thanks!!

yea, i just heard sprint is going to have to allow unlocked phones. will this mean qwest phones will work on sprint and vice versa?

unlocked does not mean they will activate it. I don't know what they even mean when they say unlock CDMA. There is a local company here that will activate any CDMA phone on their network as long as they have the cable to reprogram the phone. Sprint will not actvate any phone that is not on their ESN list as well as verizon quest, and alltel.
