you can buy out the contract. just tell them you want to buy it out but keep the same number, they will charge the $200 per line, then get on the 84.99 family plan or what ever comprable plan that you need. that plan give you a choice of either night and weekend @ 7 or 1000 m2m MYCIRCLE texting, also 2nd line is $0 per month..

You can actually change to a non-smartphone plan, but that is only if you upgraded to smartchoice. if you initially signed up with a SC, then you're out of luck. 😕

If you have less that one year remaining, you can do an early upgrade with fee for another option, due to the renewing of the contract, you are able to select another plan.

If you're still inside the first year, and you purchased a phone requiring the data package, you're not allowed to switch, however, if you ask nicely, and discuss why you are not happy with the plan, or the phone, you may be able to chose another option.

Or, you could do your rate plan change online, after switching to a non-data device. Otherwise, there could be more charges than you're willing to pay.
