Here in Charlottesville, VA, I'm hearing May 31. Can someone confirm that?

Interestingly, I have a Verizon phone activated with my Alltel plan. I bought the phone outright, I'm getting another "My Circle" number, making 11, and I plan to just stay with what I've got on a month-to-month until there's a reason to make a switch.

It's really too bad Alltel is going away altogether, whether it's with Verizon or AT&T. The service is every bit as good as Verizon, and in some places, even better. Those Alltel people, especially the indirects, who are not going to be allowed to become Verizon agents...those are the folks my heart goes out to in all of this. Because of Verizon's rules about an indirect having to be a certain distance away from a corporate store, some more folks are going to lose their livelihood. Just doesn't seem kosher to me.
