If AT&T

If they do buy the Alltel people who wont be moved to Verizon, then you WILL be forced out of your Phone AND plan and switched to a AT&T Plan and Phone because they will shut off CDMA and put up GSM which doesnt have as wide of a service area as CDMA.

Or they allow their phones to roam on the GSM overlay and implement LTE instead of wasting money on GSM and then converting to LTE later. It's very possible these markets could be the first for ATT to see LTE.

that's what i was thinking that at&t would buy the gsm network from verizon becuase alltel is already one of at&t's biggest roaming partners

yea, but the alltel based towers that verizon doesnt have to give up will not be sold and be used as Roaming for AT&T.

Like Verizon is doing with the Unicel network they kept.

they won't be forced anything. If they do not honer your contract then you can get out and go to verizon anyway. If they service the area which 99% chance they do.
