Anyone who wants to disagree with what I'm about to say may do so, and I will be the first to say that I'm wrong about this, but I have to figure that Alltel would be just fine in any metropolitan area using CDMA. If THEY don't have a local presence, it seems to me that there are CDMA towers around they would use. Like I said, if I'm wrong, so be it. You just have to figure that CDMA is going to be in most places at this point where there are lots of people.

I'm just about fifteen minutes outside of Cleveland, and I have to say Alltel's coverage and signal strength is on par with Verizon. Many times, if an Alltel tower isn't availible, it defaults over to Verizon Wireless towers anyway. Coverage itself, signal strength aside, is also very good. Besides long camping trips out into the deep country of Ohio, I have not seen a no service lable on my Motorola Q from Alltel since I recieved it. Hopefully this helps!

PS- In a fight between Verizon and Alltel, Alltel kills Verizon here in North East Ohio!
