I currently have VZW, but have been looking at switching to Nextel. I recently was able to get a loaner phone from a local Nextel retailer for about 3 days. My main reason for the phone was to check coverage in the area. The coverage was good, but the call quality and clarity were notheing to be desired. I had an i205(not my phone of choice) and it picked up a lot of background noise and was hard to hear with as well as others had trouble hearing me. I want to know if the call clarity was just with that phone or is it with all Nextels? I have heard others say that it is not as clear os VZW.

it could be that phone, it could be interference too which is a big problem. nextel service is very clear.

i ask people to do a tx or a system status. its pound star menu right arrow. and if they select tx status or system status, depending on what the phone is, it tells what the call quality is , the tower/frequcney its on, and the signal strength.

if you have your phone that 205 or any 3 digit phone do that and you will see that the call quality is very good. from 20-30+ is very good. anything lower than 20 is not that great.
with the signal strength it should be from -40 (the very very best) to -99 (its ok)

the people who i talk to say their call quality is very good they always give me a reading in between the the 20-30 so...
