Just picked up an i830....

for my wife yesterday and boy is it sweet!

I told her not to expect the same battery life as her prior i60 that had an extended battery but the outside display upgrade made up for that. 😉

Programming the phone is very close to prior Moto. formats and was a breeze to master. The only complaint that I have is a very weak vibrate mode. Its nowhere near the i60 or my i95. Well I guess small size has it's disadvantages in certain areas.

Have a good day everyone...

yea i dont like the 830 though becuase of the battery life is terrible. and i have the 730 and the nascar phones there isnt a big differ. its just the lcd on the outside is on the bottom, but the battery life is terrible compared to the 730 and 736's .

i would say the 830 is a waste of money, but since i dont pay for any of the phones , nor my services i wouldnt care, but i tell others just wait till the 860 comes out becuase its deff worth it.. i asked people why pay 300 bucks for the phone (830)and then in a few months (up to 6 months from now) the 860 will come out and then have to pay some more? it just doesnt make sense to do that.

Well the RF performance of the i830 is well worth ...

"Oh...and learn to use spell check. It's there for a reason."
nope i dont have to sorry..

i dont agree that the rf performance is better on the 830 than the 730.. i tested the 830 for about a week and compared it to the the 730 that i have and the nascar ones. i didnt get very good reception on the 830's as i did on the 730 and the nascar phones. even close to a tower the 730 and nascar phones did better than the 830 when i did the tx status on the phones.

Well lets see, I'm 15 miles from the Motorola plant in Florida where these are designed, know at least 10 engineers that work there and have discussed this with them as I "almost" bought an i730. I'll still dispute your unscientific assumptions no matter what you dream up.

I think I'll side with the guys who designed both u...

on hofo they dont know anything. plus i did it and compared the tx status on both phones and the 730 was better than the 830. better call quality and better signal strength.. i could care less about what you say. but i know and others know that the 730 is better than the 830..

why dont you take the 2 phones and do a tx status and give me the numbers for both phones and we can just see if your right. it depends what area your in becuase in some areas coverage and capacity are better than others. so in your area it might be better than my area. but when i tested it in my state like i said before the 730 outperformed the 830 in the tx status.

I don't own an i730. If you read carefully you would of seen that.

I'll still go with the friends who work at Moto. before I go with what you "experience".

OK...I'm |DONE. Drop the subject.

"OK...I'm |DONE. Drop the subject."

thought so.

motorola people are very stupid and dont know anything. they delayed the 6:1 a few times and it will be delayed again. motorola is stupid. maybe in lab tests the numbers are good but when it hits the nextel network its terrible, well in some areas. i had 5 people do a tx status and the numbers were worse than my 730. you said that the 730 is inferior to the 830. thats why i am telling you the 730 is superior than the 830 on the performance and tx status. if you dont own the 730 you dont know what your talkin about. i dont care about in the lab, i care about on the nextel network. and clearly on the nextel network the 730 out performs the 830. yes the 830 does better than the 730 in some ...

He doesn't agree with the users over at HoFo because he was banned from that site as well (that's two!). Just quit answering his posts and eventually he'll go away.
