I heard that if you put a new faceplate on the i730, the frequency goes down on the phone. Anyone had this problem, need to know if true or not?

never heard of it before. it shouldnt go down. if it does call up tech support they should be able to help you. i dont think its becuase of a faceplate. that usually doesnt change the frequency. like i said it could be the phone. if it continues call up nextel and talk to customer service or tech support and explain what your experiencing. it could be the phone, or the network area you are in (ie the coverage isnt that great or the capacity isnt great)..

so if it continues call up nextel and they will be able to help you.. let me know what happens.

Why would a faceplate change the frequency from the phones transmitter? 😕

There was a rumor that if you changed the battery cover from the metal one that Moto. supplied to an aftermarket plastic one the RF performance increased.

According to a lot of i730 owners on HoFo it made a marginal performance increase from the stock configuration. There were a lot of mixed reviews and when the i830 came out most of them dumped their i730.

That is probably what you heard. This doesn't change the operating frequency of the phone. If it did that then it would stop working.
