AT&T Wireless Reconsiders Nokia PTT Solution

In a conference call with analysts Friday, AT&T Wireless executives said there had been "a change of plan" in the company's efforts to launch Push-To-Talk (PTT) walkie-talkie service. The company had previously committed to deploying "pre-standard" PoC technology from Nokia. AT&T Wireless executives said they would now delay their PTT project indefinitely, instead working with other carriers (presumably Cingular) to agree on a common platform.
