What it really comes down to in the long run is this: what do you need? Nextel is has one of the smallest network footprints of any national wireless carrier. Their proprietary technology (IDEN) means you have no ability to pick up another carriers towers in an emergency if you have no Nextel signal. Most carriers are developing a PTT type product, with most slated to have them out long before your contract expires.
Have you tried any of these? Enough said. Push to wait, not push to talk
If you need the ability to use the phone overseas, you can forget Nextel.
Why? Nextel has international products/phones
In short, their are much better options available should you need more than just a walkie talkie. No matter what tricks the phone can do, its all useless without a RELIABLE NETWORK THAT MEETS YOUR NEEDS.
You seem to have an issue with Nextel, care to share why?I've been a satisfied customer for about 4 years, and while they aren't perfect, that are way better than VZ or ATT that I had before.
