Re: Direct Connect on Sprint
At the suggestion of the franchise store, I headed over to the local Sprint Corporate store. They had one Duramax inside a locked case, when I asked to see it they somewhat reluctantly opened the case and handed me the phone. I flipped it open, turned it on, and the battery was so low the phone immediately powered itself off. Zero enthusiasm on the part of the sales person, he never even offered to plug the charger in so I could power it up and look it over. I just handed him back the phone and suggested he might want to charge it up some time, and he said nothing.
At this rate, they can just decomission iDEN and not bother with the new Sprint DC, given that ten days after the much-heralded arrival of Sprint DC, there appear to be no takers. With no phones to try, no advertising by SPrint, and no enthusiasm on the part of their very own corporate store employees, I wonder what Sprint is expecting to happen.
So far Sprint's committment to DC is apparently just a lot of press-release hype, no substance.
