Sprint's switch from Nextel voicemail to Sprint voicemail
Have any of you Nextel iDEN customers experienced any issues with the Sprint-based voicemail?
About every two weeks or so I get anywhere from one to a few voicemail messages that are totally garbled and nearly pure static. This has happened with several different callers, no matter if the callers were on landlines or their cell phones when leaving messages, so the problem has to be with Sprint's voicemail recording system, not the caller's phones.
Also, when I call in via a landline to listen to new voicemail messages, the garbled/staticky messages are identical to when I listen to them from my cell phone, so I know it's not due to a reception problem with my cell phone. It's definitely a problem with the way Sprint's voicemail system records the messages initially.
The second issue I've had is that every few weeks or so the system gets into a goofy loop when I call in to listen to new voicemail messages, and it thinks I'm a brand new user all over again. I hang up and call back an hour later and it works fine.
Anyone else out there have any issues related to the switchover to Sprint-based voicemail for Nextel iDEN customers?
