My vote is to keep the "Sprint side" separate from the "Nextel side" as long as Nextel & iDEN are still operational.

Sprint and Nextel may be owned by a single business entity, but in terms of the networks (iDEN vs CDMA) and the customer base (the "just get it done" iDEN folks vs the "phone fashionistas & data freak" CDMA & WiMax folks, they could hardly be more different. Like oil & water, or fire & ice, or conservatives & liberals.

Besides, there is so little Nextel "posting traffic" these days, any Nextel-related posts would get swamped by the Sprint CDMA & WiMax postings constantly pushing them to the bottom of the stack.

I agree that if the forums are kept separate, this one should be called simply "Nextel", or maybe simply "iDEN"

The iDEN technology, the iDEN phones and the Nextel customer base are all so different from the rest of the wireless industry in the US, it makes no sense at all to me to mix the handful of iDEN-related postings in with the sea of CMDA and WiMax postings.

Just my thoughts on the subject, which you did seem to be soliciting...
