Because Nextel is not, never has been, and never will be "Sprint". They are different beasts, through & through. Different network technology, different customer bases, different needs & uses - there is almost nothing the two have in common, except for the incompetent parent company called Sprint.

Sprint never really accepted Nextel (although they did gladly accept all the spectrum holdings that Nextel brought to the party) and certainly no one from Nextel ever accepted Sprint, being that Sprint was & is so inferior to the original Nextel, from the customer perspective.

Besides, there IS another forum for the original Sprint here on PhoneScoop. This forum used to be the original Nextel forum, then after Sprint took over Nextel they renamed this forum "Sprint, together with Nextel" and stuck the Sprint logo up in place of the original Nextel logo (mistake).

Leave it the way it is, separate forums for Sprint and Nextel. Nextel customers don't have long to live - let them die off in peace.
