The areas where you can acquire the service is the west part of the nation, (i think nevada and/or california). but after acquiring you can roam the rest of the country with it; but its only prepaid. hope tjis answers your question.

i was told that regular nextel phones cannot be use a boost specific phones. in other words, the phones that are use for regular activation (the monthly bill thing) will not accept Boost sim chip. can anyone tell me exactly whats goin on. I am a cingular customer, and there phones can be use for prepaid and regular service simply by switching the chips. in other words, my v400 can use prepaid chip and my regular chip.
is there a difference in the nextel chip? or is it really the software on the phones itself?
can anyone direct me to a site where i can purchase boost prepaid sim. thanks

Basically, the phones are the same. However, internally the companies have set it up so that a Boost SIM will not work on a Nextel phone and vice versa. If you buy a wiped SIM then it probably can be used on either or. However once it's programmed for either Nextel or Boost, you wil not be able to swap them back and forth, unless the SIM is wiped again.

Do either what the previous message states or try to get the phone unlocked; thats about it.
