EVDO And/Or WIMAX On iDen Devices
With the revival of iDen, any chance we'll see any of those devices with high speed data capabilities? The ic902 was OK, but it is no longer being offered. I think Nextel folks would like to have something more than just WiDen.

i can certainly agree with you on that but there is no lauch of new service for the iden network.

Not sure when it's coming out stateside (or if it even will), but Motorola made a touch screeen iden phone with wimax called the Optus 1. (about 95% positive ont he name and don't have good internet access to double check)

I'd heard of this too, but no word if it will be a US phone. Hope it is, Nextel needs some *real* smartphones.

re: "With the revival of iDen..."
Seriously NOT trying to be disagreeable, but did I miss the revival of iDEN? Can someone who saw it explain what exactly was revived? Or to use the term of Dan Hesse, "reinvigorated"?
I've been a Nextel iDEN customer for eight years, but I honestly have not seen any revival of iDEN or Nextel, just more of the same "non-everything" from Sprint.
THh only thing that can qualify as an improvement on iDEN is the loss of 8 milion customers since 2005, so the network isn't crowded and it drops fewer calls now than it did in the 2006-2008 time frame.
But a "revival"? Please clarify.
...
"Revival" in the sense that iDen for Sprint was to be wholly done away with by 2012. For now, it appears that QChat is instead.
