I thought I had replied via PM back.

I personally like Directalk because of it having voice privacy and allowing one to carry a single device rather than two or three.

No, there was no PM to the Direct Talk question on BAW, just the one on every-day DC uses.

I still think DirecTalk is a great feature, in fact it's a dynamite feature that only Nextel users get, and for free no less. I was just a little surprised that the range was affected that much in the forest.

re: "Directalk voice privacy": Isn't it true that DT has privacy only if you are using an active DC number on both phones. If you use any of the channels, it's not private. In my case one of the phones being used was my old i560, which of course had the same DC number sa my new i580, so I used the channels method. If the other phone was an active Nextel phone with its own DC number, I would have gone with the private DC mode of DT.

Thanks for the feedback.

Too bad BAW has been essentially abandoned by the long-time posters, it's kind of dead over there now (since they redid the website and put it directly under the Sprint main website).

I dislike the new website. Its confusing to me.

One reason I've continued posting here is because the format is very simple yet effective.
