Personanally, I would really prefer if someone could rally an effort to take Nextel back, add to it both NIHD and Telus Mike, combining all three into a standalone, all-Nextel company spanning all of North America & South America. There is plenty of room for growth in Canada & South America, and a return to the original Nextel in the US would no doubt be a strong company and a good cash-cow again.
After a couple of years to get back on their feet, the new "Nextel Americas" could re-launch a high-speed data system like the Flarion system that was in trials when they pulled the plug as Sprint took over, or maybe even have a combined iDEN-LTE handset that could be iDEN for PTT & voice, plus LTE for data & voice. Anything to be free of the chains of Sprint that are dragging Nextel down.
