It really depends why you are going back to Nextel for. Is it for the push to talk? Well Qchat will be out shortly so you can wait for those.
It just depends where you live.
I have Nextel pre merger and post, and in my area quality has decreased a little bit but then after they realized that IDEN is still there they started to spend more money, the quality increased. In fact, they built out some towers. When I went to NYC pre merger many times Nextel didn’t work that well where I stayed and went, but after and now, it works fine.
