Reception Problem

I have a question. I have a friend who has a Nextel i760 phone and he is having problems with his signal, dropping calls etc..... I have a Verizon Wireless phone and I know I can call *228 to fix my signal problems. Can my friend do the same with his Nextel?

It's his phone. Nextel doesn't roam. He needs to take it in.

simply because the phone does not roam does not mean he needs to take it in, usually a power cycle will do the trick if it just needs an update, otherwise its tech support or service center depending on where problem lies.

I doubt very seriously that his phone hasn't been turned off and then back on, but hey, who knows?

You'd be surprised how many people don't turn their phones off and then back on again. I've talked to a lot of people and so many people have never turned their phones off ever, and if they have, it's because the battery died or something else happened.

But, I would agree, the phone probably just needs to be power cycled. And take the SIM out as well once off. However, it could also be a network issue, because Nextel is notorious for bad service and reception.

The reason I think it's the phone is because seemingly most of the newer "slim" Nextel phones with the flat antennas are having these issues. Never a problem with my old i90 or new Powersource phones.

have him call tech support and they can search and see if thereis signal failure where he is at...might be a possibility also it can be the actual device...just in case im a tech in a service and repair store....i dont control signal strenght but definately if its a problem they would send out engineer to check and test the site
