If you have had Sprint Nextel for 2 years and have had your phone swapped due to warrenty, Sprint should be able to attach a RLOF22 code to make you eligible for the upgrade program in Sprint's corp. retail stores. If you need help, PM me with your number and I'll get you taken care of.

Other than what has already been offered to you, I wouldn't count on any alternatives. Obviously, Sprint doesn't manufacture the phones, so we are not liable for any of their defects/issues. It's rare that somebody goes through that many phones in that timeframe, but it can happen. If it comes to the point where you might consider cancelling your service as a result of this issue, please contact our acct services department for a possible retention offer. (866) 235-1185(for general) or (866) 840-9537(if you are receiving a discount through your employer).

Thanks

thanks alot man..yeah i have no clue why this model keeps f'n up on me...i really do take good care of it..the only thing i can think of is..i text ALOT...when on the road..i can text like 200 a day or something....only thing i can think of is maybe the constant opening and closeing of the lid eventually f's up something in the phone..i dont know...its just ridiculous though...mainly b/c before they just put this repair center in town..i had to drive over an hour to return all these phones and go back and forth most of the time b/c they would have to order one then i would have to come back....blah

What is it about the i870 that you like so much that you would put up with five breakdowns for the same issue? Must otherwise be a sweet phone.

My i560 had a problem with sometimes going bonkers when the flip was opened or closed, but in my case it turned out to be an ill-fitting back cover that let the battery partially lose contact with one of the pins. The solution was to fold one of those small (approx 1" square) Post-It notes in half and lay it on top of the battery (near the contact end) before I reinstalled the battery door, so the folded paper takes up the slack space and keeps all four pins in good electrical contact. Might not be the same problem you're having, but for the price of a small folded post-it, it's worth a try.

If...

hahahah no its not that its a sweet phone..its not a bad phone otherwise..its just waht they always replaced it with..and iwould never sit there and argue with them about giving me a different phone for all the problems....damn your lucky b/c mine stays on until i take the battery out..it just freezes on the start up screen..."white screen of death" they told me ha...its ridiculous..and i got my extended 2 years and plan to go to sprint..i just dont see why they dont give me the cheaper of the 2 phones...b/c that i870 is just ridiclous now..and thats another reason im going with the centro..it doesnt flip lol
