I don't have an exact date, but from what I understand, the 800 along with a few others are being made by Sanyo. It's not exactly iDEN though, it's QChat, which doesn't actually use the iDEN network.

I wonder what the battery life would be like on the qchat. Couldn't be much worse than the IC's.

The Sanyo Pro Series are not hybrid phones, they are 100% CDMA (dual). The Direct Connect by Sprint (Q-Chat) works on Sprint's EvDO Rev.A network, uses the same number for voice and DC. DC by Sprint still has glitches with numbers ending in 0, no international DC, and will only work in "eligible markets". Kansas and Denver will launch 1st, then 35 to 45 markets should follow. Pro Series will have dual internal antennas, top and bottom, 1000 mAH batteries, support Java MVM, In Plane Switcing, and atonomous GPS. Going foward, Sanyo will be using Micro USB chargers. The Pro Series will support DUN on Rev.A.

I'm guessing that QChat to DC would use the DC dispatch number including asterisks?

To respond to your original question, in a chat last year on Buzz About Wireless, a Sprint employee (forgot his precise title) revealed that no new hybrids would be released.
