I was thinking about getting my mom the IC 902 Hybrid, would that require her to change her current nextel plan? She has the unlimited everything plan for $150/month, which is no longer available so she doesnt want to lose that plan.

thanks in advance.

A: In most cases, you will be able to keep your existing rate plan. In limited instances, it may be necessary to switch to a rate plan that better meets your needs due to current system limitations.

The best advice then, for a current Nextel customer; make sure before switching to a hybrid that whatever plan they have will be eligible to be grandfathered in, and GET IT IN WRITING!

Too bad for the PCS folks, though. ☹️

(in a store)to switch to a hybrid phone you must change your exsisting nextel plan to our Powerpack plan which supports both nextel and sprint phones. being that the hybrid phone uses sprint for voice and nextel for direct connect you cannot keep the current plan.

BUT, you never konw if CS have some kind of code to add that even if you have to switch to a power pack plan they might be able to keep your current pricing.

nextel and sprint plans are pretty much the same. 9 times out of ten the sub does not have to change.

You dont have HAVE to have a powerpack plan.
I remeber the unlimited plan use to be among the few exceptions, but I think that has been resolved.
