Don't you love it when a customer comes in the store and says "I just got this i530 and I don't know how to use the 2-way or setup my voicemail. Can you show me how to use the phone?" Then after asking the customer where they bought the phone, they say "walmart." Walmart: zero cost equals zero customer service. That's when I tell the customer to go back to Walmart. Walmart doesn't give a F*%K about the customer when they walk away from the counter and NEXTEL stores don't give a F*%K about customers with Walmart phones. What does that tell you? Buy your phone from a Nextel representative who will glady show you how to use everything and make sure your satisfied. If you want to get a $50 phone for free and get left with your thumb up your a...

I am waiting for the Partners/Sextel merger to finalize and I am REALLY LOOKING forward to the Radio Shack customers. God knows I have my fair share of those that sell Verizon Wireless coming in for help that the RS idiots can't or won't handle...but should be able to handle.

Don't tell me,
Its the classic Customer Service vs Sales

The sales, only cares about sales, and they move on

Customer care doesn't have that luxury
We deal with customer service,
but we also help customers who want to get to a sales channel.

Here is my suggestion, instead of sending them to Wal Mart, where you clearly belive they won't get service, why don't you help the customer, represent Nextel, Show them the difference in your store, and Wal Mart,
hey, I would rather send a customer to you, than to Wal Mart,
Maybe they wont buy a phone directly from you that time.

But the next time they need an upgrade, they will remember that great dealer who saved them from Wal Mart and buy from you,

And even better, they will tell...

Regardless of how many self-help options there may be out there, people still get that little "warm and fuzzy" by talking to an actual person. True, having a large volume of customer service traffic in a sales location is frustrating, but a good point was brought up...Take care of them once, and you've already done wonders for your rappore.
