First mandatory negotiations begin in 800 MHz transition

It means simply that the re-organization of the 800 MHz band has taken another step to reduce interference in the band that NEXTEL uses with other radio services.

It doesn't have any impact to the end user as long as you are using a 3 digit phone. Those who continue to use 2 digit phones may experience above average call blocking and dropped calls as NEXTEL is required to turn channels off as part of the re-organization.

it is just steps with the 800mhz re-banding situation that nextel and the fcc has agreed upon. this has to deal with interference.
