Is this true about the i930?

I went into a Nextel store and the lady seemed as if she wanted me to leave. But I asked her about the i930 and she told me it was not coming out any more. Is this true or was she just trying to brush me off?

did you ever find it? Also since they are coming out with the i870, do you think that is a sign we are not getting the i930?

It won't let me find 'older posts'. The rumors I heard way back when were based on style/design not nec dual mode capabilities. Nextel/Motorola/iDEN were getting away from those little square dealies, ie: i830 & i860 and if you look at the specs that were posted in this forum from the FCC, the i930 shared that design... Next thing you know, nobody is talking about the i930 because the new (style) i850 & i760 are out... NOW, they are doing the i870 which will also share that same overall style... If I had to guess, I'd say the new dual mode CDMA/iDEN phone that comes out in the next however long will also share that style...

If this phone is not really coming out then why did they go to all the trouble of getting it FCC approved and send out so many Beta Phones to Individuals to test?

It could still come out, it was never really an issue of going to all the trouble, it was an issue of phones coming out with the body stile of an i830 and camera addition i860... Next thing you know, Motorola does a 180 and starts marketing/testing the style of the i850 & i760... If an i930 comes out, which it probably will there is a possibility that it will share that ilk of body styles...

The i930 WILL be released. The official release date is scheduled for Oct.10. And as far as the i870, the release date will be sometime in Nov. early Dec. before Christmas. So both phone will be here. As far as which one to choose, well do research on both models.
