Why does this forum still exist?

I know others have asked this question. This separate Sprint forum is now even more pointless than ever before!

Mods, what's the deal? ๐Ÿ˜•

Hmmm...I wonder why a person wouldn't just ignore a specific forum if they have no interest in it. Rather than worry about it and poke at the moderators, why wouldn't a person just ignore it and let it be?

Of course, this would then beg the question of why a person would worry about another person supposedly worrying about a defunct forum that shares part of its name with one that's active.

A better question to ask would be why was there ever two Sprint forums in the first place when it's been one company since 2005? ๐Ÿ˜•

Possibly because the two customer bases are effectively on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their mobile phone needs. Nextel users on the whole have no interest in slick, trendy phones, games, video, etc, while most legacy Sprint users have no interest in simple, ruggedized, work-centric, PTT phones.

Frankly, I'm not worried about a thing, but apparently you are. You were the one who broached the subject, suggested getting rid of the separate Nextel forum, and asked the moderators what was going on, I routinely ignore all but two forums on this website, and I've never even thought of asking the moderators to change anything based on my personal likes/dislikes. I am a guest here, no

This ad-supported website would not continue without folks like us; therefore our preferences do matter. I don't hear the Mods complaining that they feel "pestered" by me or anyone else who questions why things are a certain way.

Your previous point only strengthens mine. Every forum has a very diverse subscriber base; yet, all their prepaid, post paid, PTT, smartphone and other subscribers are lumped together in a single place. Why segregate only one forum into multiples when you aren't doing that in other cases?

The "Sprint Together with Nextel" forum winds up at the bottom of the forum page, making it look even less important. This is why I object to it.

It has been a while since ...

>>> Agreedโ€”my visits to this website support it equally as much as your visits do. As a multi-line Nextel customer of ten years, my preference is to leave the Nextel forum as-is for the remaining twelve months that Nextel will exist.

My primary objection to rolling the Nextel forum into a single Sprint forum is purely a practical one. The comparativley few Nextel posts would be swamped inside the large Sprint forum, making any Nextel/iDEN related posts difficult to find.

Once Nextel is shut down, that is a natural breakpoint at which to remove the separate Nextel forum, IMO. When...

I think I've said all there is to say on the matter--one company, two forums is just plain dumb IMO.

Don't bet on the forum going away in 2013. It didn't in 2005 or any year after that even though Cingular and Alltel did.
