Increase in dropped calls for Nextel

Yup, its become a huge problem in Florida with the dropped calls & dialing a number, having the display say redial/busy, wait for forty seconds and finally go through. Nextel acts like its not happening. However, the good news for Nextel is that all the hicks down here that use the service treat it as if they were in a clique. The construction workers, gov employees, & etc. will never leave them.

yea, plus with the off network push to talk, those guys dont really care about if there are any problems down there.

seems like a capacity problem unless there are a lot of problems going on down there that the people with the service that puts the public safety personal first. (With the easy-to-find orange button you gain priority, preemptive access to network resources during times of heavy congestion. When you initiate an Emergency Group Connect Call, other calls are preempted to allow the emergency call to go through. All members of the talk group receive priority treatment for the duration of the call. This service offers an increase call hang time of 30 seconds. )

if your having problems with your phones, i would clal up nextel ...

No, don't wait it out, you shouldn't have to. If you're constantly having problems that are lasting days, then days into weeks, weeks into months, months into years... you shouldn't have to wait because thats not the service you signed up for! If you're paying $60 or whatever amount a month for a phone with constant sketchy service in your particular area, don't wait it out unless you don't mind burning your money like that. You work hard for it, don't let it go to waste.

This goes for Nextel customers as well as customers of any other carrier. If they can't supply the service you pay for without having constant issues that dont just last days, but weeks or months, don't wait it out cause then you're only wasting your hard earned mone...

my friend with technology you have to wait. especially since there is a contract in there that doesnt gaurantee service especially since those emergency personals will superceed regular customers. (thats in the contract, my friend)

nothing else you can do besides to pay the ETF and leave or just wait keep filing tickers and just get $60 back for the service you cant use. (usually nextel gives credits when it gets that bad)

Yes, you have to wait, that I know, but weeks and months? If you have to wait THAT long, it's pretty obvious the carrier has nothing under control.

And when they say they dont garauntee service, I'm sure they mean you should expect dropped calls, you should expect to hit dead spots. But not lose service at the providers fault, for who knows how long.

Of course, no technology is perfect. But when problems persist for long periods of time, it's hard to blame that on the technology, that's when the blame is put on the carrier for neglecting to resolve those problems in a timely fashion.

the carrier has everything in control, but if something was battered that it would take months or weeks to replace, so be it. i had a problem for a few months my services werent working becuase of a t1 problem and power mgmt problem and i waited becuase i knew it was going to get fixed. think of this... if i am going through it or was going through it others in my area would be going through it too. same in florida and every other area there are problems.

again, in the contracts it says doesnt gaurantee service. it means in-building as well as drop calls and for safety personal who come first in the network. stuff like that.

nextel does everything they can to help and get these problems fixed. sometimes there is nothing to do or may...

Ask your basic Joe Customer to understand any of that as his service constantly sucks. Yeah, that's what I thought.

Go to deadcellzones.com and look at the areas marked Cingular or ATT and compare them to the number of Nextel areas and you will quickly shut your trap! deadcellzones is not affiliated with any of the cell carriers and is a free site where customers can add areas of interest and poor service.

Troll on O' wayward son!

I see how relaible this is, I searched Chicago where I reside, I've seen spots on there where people claim dead spots, I have to strongly disagree because my service is fine there.

Totally a reliable source! 🙄

And not just Cingular. I bet anyone from any carrier could go on here and find "dead spots" that arent so dead.

This site is not reliable because you dont know how valid these claims are. Try again.

I live in the Chicago area and Cingular sucks here! I know people in sales at SBC that carry Verizon Wireless and Nextel phones because their Cingular company lines are horrible. Cingular has been getting bad revues in tests in the Windy City for a while now.

That's surprising considering I've never had any problem with Cingular in Chicago, the ony place I've had a problem is parts of Fox River Grove. Now, Nextel, that's what gave me a headache which is why I switched to Cingular. I know Verizon works well too, my cousin left Nextel too for them.

I have to say Nextel does seem to work better throughout chicago than Cingular, Verizon and us cell are also very reliable carriers here. Don't count Nextel out just yet!!

I already did, that's why I switched to Cingular and haven't had nowhere near the bad experience as I did with Nextel. I havent had any bad experience at all.
