07/11/2010, DC charge effective

Jul 7, 2010, 2:29 PM
Sprint will once again be charging for the Nextel Direct Connect features on all capable phones with all plans except for the Simply Everything. The Direct Connect service will be $5.00/month for all phones activated or plans changed after 07/11/2010.

If you are currently paying $5.00 or $10.00 for monthly Direct Connect service, call and request free Direct Connect. It will NOT be available starting 07/11, so get it now if you haven't already!

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, as has happened in the past. I work for an escalation team call center for sprint and have to keep up on this information. The study guide we got about this stated that DC would remain free unless the person wants to have group connect, at which time there would be a $5 charge. If they only want to be able to DC friends and family, then it would remain free on all plans except the Talk and Sprint Basic plans.

i know that we can still add the $0 code if you know the code but its not in the list here in cc, i still add it for long term customers and will continue to do so until they wont let us add the code

you cant add the code anymore

They allowed us to keep the code to use it on customers that unfairly had their free DC taken away, such as from an upgrade from a V950 to a pure Nextel model. Unfortunately, representatives abused it and gave free DC to every customer for no good reason.

Now it has been taken away.

This is something I am referencing from about 2 weeks ago that we got the material on it. Again, I may be wrong and will have ti pull up KMS on this one as I'm not positive.
