Question for the employees

Apr 9, 2008, 12:03 PM
We recently had some contest or prize for making our goal selling accessories. For some dumb reason our boss got to go to some game and get spoiled because we hit our goal. Did the reps that actually made the goal and asked the customers for the sale get anything NO.
Just wondering if anyone else feels like their boss rips them off.

Our boss did not motivate us or come out and help us. He just sat in his office and did not even tell us about the contest until he said he was leaving early to go to the game.

Our bosses usually give those types of prizes to the reps. Unless everybody and their brother gets a prize, the boss usually gives away the smaller prizes to us or holds a store level contest where the winner gets the prize.

We (the webchat reps in Verizon) get anything from candy to gift cards, from $50 to several hundred. Nothing fantastic.

Unfortunately its like that. Im guessing you work for an indirect dealer? because i do and its exactly like that. When i was promoted from sales rep to store manager, i realized the same things. I was suddenly invited to all of these nice dinners thrown by sprint and tmobile and generally just receiving alot of benefits when my store hit quota, and my team which was the main reason why we hit quota, was left out of all of these celebratory events. my girlfriend hates going to those things normally so i normally bring my top rep at the time. Just the way things are i guess.
