I got a call today from a lady who was reporting her phone stolen, it has been missing for a week. She wanted to get it replaced thru the insurance, when i looked at her account she did not have a phone listed on the account.I looked in the history and it seems that a store rep put dummy equipment on her account on May 16.When i did a search for her phone that had been taken off, it seems that a store rep had activated her phone onto another persons account on the same day it was replaced with dummy equipment.I dont believe that the customer was aware of this...i do believe that this is illegal...

yup...and I'll bet it was a new smart device, too? Saw that a lot when the 700s came out initially...and mostly on accounts started in NY somewhere.....

Besides how poweredup stated about insurance and frauding, Im pretty sure this is illegal. Most of the time with cust care, if a cust is trying to activate a phone that is currently active on someone else's acct, they require a release form from the acct holders.

If the stores follow this policy or not, who knows, but I do believe they are supposed to as well.

sure are...but, like anywhere else, some stores are not as good at following that kind of thing as others...
