Sprint Deceptive Charges

After switching to Sprint a couple of months ago, I've been repeatedly overcharged, last month by as much as $170 on top of the plan.

Three things I noticed on my bill:

- There is a $37 surcharge on each bill that Sprint claims is from the town I live in - something I never learned it will apply during th e purchase of the plan.

- Some of the calls are a lot longer than I expect them to be as minutes air time. I've noticed that when I am at home, calls would often not discontinue when I hang up, I need to press 4-5 times the disconnect button. I'm thinking - it's either the Razor V3m that's malfunctioning, or the network is set in that way in order to maximize Sprint's profit - either way is rotten.

- I frequently get the "roami...

Seems to be a manufacture defect. Go to your local corp Sprint (tech) store to have the phone checked. Municipal taxes do suck, that's out of Sprints control.

Try the firmware update, fixes a lot of issues with the RAZR.

$37 are they planning on paving the streets with gold in your town?? that seems a little excessive, Ive heard of them being like $5 before but $37 sounds like anal rape.

honestly ... i mean if he lives in a town where only 1000 people have cell phones his town collects 37000 dollars a month from its residents... what are they doing there? subsidizing a space program?

It does seem ridiculous, but I've seen small towns in my area get charge an extra $10 to $20 more due to cellular municipal taxes by the city. Some big cities will raise their municipal taxes if the city wants a pro-sports team, stadium, gold brick road, etc. lol.

can you imagine the amount of revenue generated if a major American city decided to tack $10 a month onto its residents cell phone bills? NY, LA, CHI, DC... all with millions of residents that use cell phones

I am thinking that either sprint has the local tax rate loaded in wrong or you have stupid high phone bills.. telecom taxes are rarely over 6%, but lets say your city is high and it is 7%, that would mean your charges before taxes and surcharges was around $530...

i used to have sprint and the same thing happened to me 3 months in a row. One time it actually just said Misc. Charges $100. I called and inquired and the guy actually said "It was a computer glitch and it just accidentally added that to ur bill!" i was dumbfounded. Another time, it said my hubby n I were only using about 400 mins total and our plan was for like 700 or something like that yet we were getting charged overages. Apparently their answer to that was that our acct was set up wrong but after a year of it being wrong n my idiot just paying all the overages without looking they would only credit us back 3 months of overages. It ended up being almost $200 credited back. Can u imagine if I would've gotten the whole yrs worth!?!...
