It is rumored to be the next NEXTEL phone which is supposed to be MS Based Smartphone.

It has yet to hit the FCC for type acceptance since my last search a few days ago and only beta's are out in the field right now. Figure sometime mid to late next year at the earliest at this rate.

a nextel phone is really a boost phone, becuase nextel owns boost and motorola makes the same exact phones for nextel, nextel partners and boost. all you have to do is unlock it and do some other things, which i dont know, and you can use it.

Earlier today we linked to Gizmodo's information on the new i930 Smartphone from Motorola which Nextel is planning to sell. We've now received additional leaked photos and details about this device. What excites me most about this device is that the top right image appears to show a half-sized external display featuring a photo caller ID feature. Interestingly, this isn't mentioned in the "Features" list below. Either way, the i930 is not expected to be available until the end of next year so it could be a long time before we learn any more.

On the down side, these images show the device running Smartphone 2002 (as opposed to the much improved Smartphone 2003) and there is no mention of Bluetooth support.

The big news yesterday was all about Motorola showing off the MPx220 at TechEd and listing the phone on their web site. While we spent most of the day dreaming that the MPx220 will be released soon, Motorola quietly started to show off the i930.

The Motorola i930 features a built-in camera, a huge external display, Push-To-Talk, and Java, running Windows Mobile for Smartphone 2003 SE. There is no word on when it will be available, or what the price will be. Looks like Nextel is going to get a Smartphone after all.
