When off network the PTT function works the same as a standard 2-way radio. The communication is point-to-point and the phones need to be in range of one another to communicate. Our rep brought a couple demos by and we were able to talk at a distance of 2.8 miles. This is in the city and I can only imagine the range will increase in rural areas, on highways, etc.

how does off network pust tot talk work? or for that matter what is it? and do i have to pay extra to gave it?

hey yes that is awesome! i live in michigan and i have the i710 and i have a local plan, so if i went to califorina and needed to talk to my friend that was in the other room or next door we could still talk, even tho im not in michigan? becasue if that is so i think that thats really cool!
