Need Advice - Existing T-Mobile Customer Looking for New Phone Recommendation
Hi out there. I am seeking advice as to what would be a good phone to purchase (I currently have a T68i which is starting to crap out on me after a couple of years.). I am an existing T-Mobile customer so am told I am eligible for "upgrade", whatever that means!
I am looking for a phone which (1) has decent to good battery life, (2) has world roaming capabilities, and (3) is a good, solid phone at a decent price.
I do not necessarily need bells and whistles (no camera necessary), but just want a good all-around phone. I have looked at the Samsung X-105, and the Nokia 6610 so far. Also not sure if there's anything new coming out shortly that is worth waiting for (and which is not overly expensive).

I'm a fan of both phones you mentioned, but both have been discontinued! I was really irritated, because I sell the X105 by the pallet, and one day I called in for more and it had been discontinued with no warning. I use a 6610 myself and I think its an awesome no frills phone also. Apparently neither of these handsets were moving very well. The X105 was priced way too high when it came out, But you could always get a good price on one from a dealer. I was selling them basically for free after rebate, and so they were extremely popular. My suggestion is to go for the Samsung E105. Everybody loves it, and its small, attractive and easy to use. It also holds a signal remarkably well.

The Samsung X-105 is still on the website. I called T-Mobile yesterday and they said that the Nokia 6610 is sitll available (though it no longer appears on the website). Any preference as between the X105 or 6610?
I was reluctant to get the SonyEricsson 610, since it's basically just an updated version of the T68i...any thoughts on that as well?

Yeah, I'm sure they still have a warehouse full of both of these phones, since they were apparently not moving well. Being discontinued just means that I as a dealer can't order them in any more. As far as a choice between the two goes, the X105 is definitely "prettier". It has a 65,000 color screen and fantastic polyphonic ringtones. It also seems to hold a signal the best of the two outdoors. The Nokia 6610 is a much classier, low-key looking phone. It doesn't have the nicest color screen (4096 colors) and the polyphonic ringtones aren't as magical as the Samsung's. However, it holds a signal like nobody's business inside, the sound quality of the both the microphone and the earpiece are spectacular, and it has a really good speake...

I am also a T-mobile customer (unfortunately). And I have the Nokia 3595, which in my opinion is a very good phone. I added another line for my wife about 5 months ago. When I did, I gave her my 3595 and I got the Samsung X105. Well, after a few weeks, I swapped phones with her so I could have my Nokia back. There were several reason why I hated the X-105: I usually carry my phone in my pocket and with my Nokia I didn't have a problem hearing it when it rang (along with the vibration on too.) Note: I work in a machine shop and have to wear earplugs all day, so I need a loud phone with good vibration. I missed many calls with the X-105 because I couldn't hear it or feel it. And another thing about the Samson: it does not have one single regul...
