Handspring VisorPhone & T-Mo

I know I'm dooming myself as an antique aficionado, however, does anyone out there know whether the Handspring (Visor, Jeff Hawkins, now part of PalmOne, etc) VisorPhone, which was shipped from the manufacturer, with a T-Mo SIM separate in the shipping box - is SIM locked?

I have spent untold hours with Handspring support, T-Mo support, 3 T-Mo Co. stores and the T-Mo "Unlock Specialist" Chris via email to no avail.
All I want to be able to do is stick a Deutsche Telekom (You Know...those guys over in Bonn that OWN T-Mo USA!) prepaid SIM in this sucker and use it in Germany next month!

T-Mo reps can't even tell me whether a DT SIM will work in the phone whether or not its SIM ( or subsidy) locked. Much less being able to check for me w...

Find someone with an AT&T or Cingular SIM, pop it into your Handspring and see what happens. If it kicks a fit, it's SIM locked. If it becomes your friend's phone, it ain't.

Yeah, Thanks...that's what I've been trying to do-find someone with a Cingular or AT&T SIM. Not easy here, almost everyone I know is TDMA or CDMA. I'm gonna go see a friend who works in a Cingular store ASAP.

Even though this phone only works on 900 & 1900 Mhz the SIM should give me a company splash screen or something huh? Do Cingular or AT&T use 1900 at all?
