So i'm going on a cruise end of May. I know that T-mobile now offers free texting and data overseas. But I wanted to know when I'm on the ship is there any way to get a discount on texting ? I know that incoming messages are free but outgoing are 50 cents. Would it be worth it to get a prepaid sim card? any suggestions ?

The international texting does not cover cruise ships, who have their own rates. When you get your cabin there is usually a flier with their rates listed. If you are porting in a Simple Global country the texting is free, incoming and outgoing. But on the ship, nothing is free. If you plan on using it on the ship, go ahead and hand over your wallet. Very expensive.

Thanks for the response. When I checked T-mo website it said on the cruise ship free incoming texts and 50 cents outgoing. I hope this is right. I tired calling T-mo customer service but they were like chickens with their heads cut off lol. Maybe to be safe i'll turn my phone off until I get a island
