The equipment that T-Mobile is deploying LTE with is newer than the LTE equipment that both ATT & Vzn have been using the past two years, all that would be necessary for T-Mobile to do to upgrade to LTE-Advanced would be a software upgrade. LTE-Advanced Will provide mind-blowing speed's, well above 60+mbps to end-users.

Once T-Mobile gets into the process of combining the spectrum they got from MetroPCS their network will be able to sustain speed's better even with heavy traffic.

I'm not sure if I would say Tmo's LTE is better than Vzn's, but if/when T-Mobile wants to upgrade to LTE-Advanced it will be a lot easier for them to do so.

And as always, if for whatever reason you drop an LTE signal, T-Mobile has HSPA 21/42 as a fallback, which puts out very, very strong speed's.

And no by the way, the S4 is not LTE-Advanced capable. T-Mobile's HSPA 21/42 + LTE is/will be plenty sufficiently good speed's for the time being.

So have you found anyone with an old T-Mobile smartphone that would be willing to let you borrow it to do a network test-drive?

You can get pre-paid service for as low as $30 for 100m's, Unlimited Texts, and 5GB's of high-speed data, but that offer is only available online.
