I'm looking over our coverage map and I can't find Essex county. 😕 I found Sussex and Middlesex counties, but not Essex. Oh well. Most of the upper half of NJ is covered. I'd say about 50% of the southern half is covered. All of the coverage is across the densly populated areas, so you should be fine.

You're in a marginal coverage area with a dead spot due east of you, very near your location. Good coverage due south about 3/10 of a mile. South facing window is your best bet for inside coverage.

Map doesn't give labels for individual areas, just shows streets and such... not surprising, though, as colleges usually aren't too hip on allowing towers on their property... 🙄

the campus that I am on, has a tower (its the highest point in Morristown) and AT&T, Verizon (and recently sombody else.. not sure who..) have antenna's on top of that tower, (and a utility room on bottom) I do know the terms were, that the college owns the tower, and could rent out space on the tower to anybody

Well, TMobile has tower inquiry numbers for every state that potential landlords can call to see if we're interested. 😉

what's the number??

there is a 1-2 mile dead spot in Morristown NJ (45 min. from NYC)
besides, the campus that I am on, has a tower (its the highest point in Morristown) and AT&T, Verizon (and recently sombody else.. not sure who..) have antenna's on top of that tower, (and a utility room on bottom) I do know the terms were, that the college owns the tower, and could rent out space on the tower to anybody, for relatively cheap, (but one thing for sure, there is no buying property or city councils etc. and does not cost anywhere near that money...)

😁 😁 😁

Now if only I could get through to AWS CSRs to ask about this before I lost my signal by moving 2 feet in any direction!

😛 😛 😛

Seriously though - I am impressed with the capability of the technology to know the strength of the signals at specific areas - and know the exact distance from their to a dead spot! NICE!!!

Yeah, it's a cool feature--it also lets us know where network problems are occurring and lets us file service issues for the techs to check out problem areas. I like spiffy things that work well! 😁
