Sprint or T-Mobile Need Quick Help Please

I live in So. California. I do not travel much outside of the state aside for visits to Las Vegas and Dallas.
The company I work for offers a special price on Sprint PCS plans with a free Sanyo 8100 phone. The prices are 500 minutes @ $33.75 or 300 minutes @ $26.50.
I currently use T-Mobile (Nokia 3565) and haven't had any huge issues with the service. I am on a 39.99 plan that includes 600 minutes.I almost always stay within my plans minutes .. usually under by about 150 or so.
The Sprint promotion at work ends very soon. Therefore, does it make sense to change to Sprint? I have never used Sprint so how does i...

The sprint plan seems good, but the coverage of sprint is not much better than t-mobile, in so cal at least. i live in orange county and travel to work as far as LA to Irvine, and have no problem with t-mobile. I'll say stay With t-mobile. Plus you never know when you might need the extra minutes.

I too live in OC and I haven't had many problems with T-Mobile. Just the deal I can get from work seems pretty tempting. I just don't want to lose "quality of service" if I do switch to Sprint.

well.. if you want to give up the clear calls T-Mobile's gsm network has to offer, for a series of pockets with no service, resulting in the dropped calls that Sprint and their CDMA service are famous for.. to save a few dollars and have less minutes.. by all means go for it!!!

you get what you pay for. if u want the best, switch to verizon. might not get as many minutes, but if majority of your friends and family has verizon, its free anytime, anywhere, with their in-network calling. by the way, t-mobile is the same as cingular in cali. t-mobile goes off cingular towers. at least sprint owns their network in cali. overall its a toss up between the 4th best (tmobile) and the 5th (sprint). both have the highest churn rate of customers, similar size networks, same size customer base. do a little research on how many of your buddies have verizon and it might be worth switching. for a better review of cell phones and service, pick up the feb 2004 edition of consumer reports

MW2 -LOL thanks I kind of had the feeling the other poster was a little verizon heavy. Also, I appreciate the other posters comments.
If I do change (I have till this Monday) it will be based solely on price. I also found out I can get a Sprint 700 anytime minute plan for $36. that is $4. less than I pay for T-Mobiles 600 minute plan.
I also have asked several people at work who switched during the last promotion and most are happy with Sprint, though they all say customer service sucks.
As I mentioned I haven't had any real problems with T-Mobile service or reps so that is what makes the decision so hard for me. It isn't like I can justify it by saying their reps are rude or I have X amount of dropped calls .. as no problems at ...

well it looks like you will have to weigh the double swords:
sprint: more minutes per cost but highly possible to experience bad cust service
t-mo: less minutes per cost but known cust service
lastly, are you under contract right now under t-mo? if so you would have to pay the etf. if not you could always port out to sprint and try them out during their trial period, if it's not to your liking, then port back to t-mo.

I live in NYC, but travel to So. Cal quite often. T-Mobile's reception is very good. I'm not a big Sprint fan. T-Mobile's customer service is about the best I've ever encountered...anywhere. Sprint might have the worst.
Plus, T-Mobile has their new Get More plan for $39.99 until April 19th in selected areas. Los Angeles is one of the areas. For $39.99 you get 1000 anytime minutes, and Unlimited Nights and Weekends...including roaming and national long distance. It is basically their $59.99 plan for $20.00 less. A great deal.

I live in San Diego and I travel a lot around San Diego County, Orange County, and LA. I just(four days ago) moved to T-mobile from Sprint (after 3 years with Sprint). And I am very happy!
I came to California from Ohio last year and kept Sprint. Well, I was having tons of reception problems with Sprint, dropped calls and horrible customer service which got worse by the day.
With T-mobile, my experience so far has been great. I finally have reception in my office (it is perfect), I have a great new phone for a very reasonable price, and my two interactions with customer T-mobile's customer service have been perfect, including the porting of my number.
Advice from me: don't change carriers, stay with T-mobile.

Simple math says: 33.75/500 = .0675 per min. 39.99/600 = .06665 per min. TMobile is less expensive, minute per minute, than Sprint at a promotional rate. Add in nationwide no long distance or roaming, a remarkable lack of hidden fees, cheap data and SMS plans, excellent customer service, 😉 a short contract period and liberal upgrade discount, and I'd say we have a winner... 😎

Well I decided to stick with T-Mobile for several reasons. The main reason is I know T-Mobile's connections are solid in the areas I'm usually in. Followed closely by their customer care department. It's absolutely the best in the industry at this time.
As the poster points out above penny for penny my rate is better with T-Mobile and it just became even more of a value. I upgraded to the 39.99 1000 anytime minutes with unlimited nights and weekends. This is close to double the minutes I use and even beats Sprints 700 discount plan that I had access to.
