T-Mobile’s Valentine’s “Cupid’s Arrow Hits Mark” Day Sale was a Rip-Off
Wanted a Samsung Galaxy S 2 (T989). It was free after mail in rebate. I didn't find out the particulars of the fine print until after I went in the store regardless of having searched for information on their main webpage. While there I was told that I had to buy at least an unlimited 5GB plan. So let us do the math in contrasting the total two year cost between TMobile and Simple Mobile.
TMobile Total 2 year cost:
24 months * $89.99 per month * (between %12 and %18 tax and fees in GA, I will use the median %15) + $35 activation fee = $2518.73.
SimpleMobile
24 months * $60 (inclusive of tax and fees) + $497.50 (unlocked from Negri Electronics including shipping) + $9.99 SIM Card from TigerDirect = $1947.49
That is a difference of $571.24 over the two year period. In addition you do not have to do a credit check and have more flexibility with Simple Mobile.
Remember with the TMobile deal that you have to pay the initial $250, the $35 activation fee, and the first two months before the mail-in-rebate is processed. Simple Mobile is a prepay MNVO of TMobile. If you have the money to buy a phone unsubsidized then I highly recommend Simple Mobile over TMobile.
