I know it's an older phone but I got one for free recently and I love it. However I prefer a different theme style without the app icon borders. Anyone know of anyway to get different themes without rooting the device? I'm not opposed to rooting it either but I've heard this phone is one of the tougher eggs to crack.

Uh... Ya think? The mytouch4G has a few different themes built in but they all kinda suck and all have borders around the app icons. But thanks for the assist... If you were serious.

Check the Market for themes. I use GO Launcher Ex for default Home screen. There are other Home screen apps too: ProLauncher, ADW...try them out and see what works best for you. There are free and paid themes for all of the apps suggested. 🙂
