A FEE FOR WARRANTY PROCCESSING?!

I just had to do a warranty of my phone (warranty is through November) with customer care. I am being charged a $20 warranty proccessing & service fee. I have argued with the reps & a supervisor on this. Warranty is warranty period! Regardless of any insurance coverages that I have or do not have on my phone, my device should be covered for manufactures defects for ONE SOLID YEAR FOR FREE! WTF?!! Anyone have comments/insight or know how to beat this becasue this is complete BS.

Thanks!

PS customer service everywhere has gone to HELL!

most carriers have this if you dont have insurance, the warranty is through the phone manufactuer if you want the carrier to honor a warranty that is not theirs, there is fee, but doing that will save you weeks (if you had sent to the manufactuer)

The fee is BS and you know it's BS. That said, it's common practice. Your alternative is to deal with the manufacturer and hope they have a service center close to you. Since that's likely not the case you'll get socked with shipping charges to return your defective phone and you'll have to spend some time phone-less.

the carrier isnt the warranty provider, they dont have to do anything.....take your tv back to best buy after 8 months, they will send it off, they wont fix or replace it.

But the problem you fail to realize is the carriers have gotten customers accustomed to this free warranty exchange. It's their own doing.

I wont disagree...all carriers are guilty of this in a multitude of ways, warranty exchanges, 30 day exchanges(restock fee), giving out credits and free things when cancellations comes up ect.
