I was wondering if T-Mobile was offering specila discounts for students. I know they have deals for international students but how about US students? I found conflicting responses online.... Thanks

I think T-Mobile discontinued their student discounts. I tried calling about a month ago and that's what they told me.

They probably realized that the best student discount around was simply adding a line to the family share plan.

Unfortunately, my family plan is on AT&T on service is so bad on my campus I have to switch to T-Mobile. Apparently they are having a special right now where new customers can get the MyTouch for free when signing a 2 year contract. Is it a good phone?

Discounts for college/university students range from 0%-15% there are definitely discounts still available for students. Whoever told you that was either lying because they were in consumer sales and didn't want to transfer you to business sales, or the discount for your particular school was discontinued. It isn't a generic discount for all students, it is based on which school you attend. I am in business sales and I know for a fact that there are still student discounts available. In addition to the percentage discount that you get anyone who gets a discount also gets waived activation fees and most phones have a discount as well.

To the O/P, call 18664648662 option #3, as tmorep03 said, so they can look for your school. Even if I knew...

No problem 🙂 Good luck, hopefully if your school doesn't have a discount the rep that you speak with will be able to find another discount that would apply, there's thousands of them so there is a good chance that you would have some type of a discount.

I work with the specific group that runs this program, it is called the Advantage Program. If you provide the school or your employeer I am happy to look it up and reply privately, but will not post specifics on the board. The general program offers waived activaion fee, free shipping, usually about $50.00 most handsets versus the web or retail and discounts from 8-15%. The number the others provided is absolutely correct, but you will need to reference the school, company name or promo code for that particular organization.
