Cut the crap troll. It will take that long just for the approval. The actual merging process will take several years, probably 2-3. AT&T isn't stupid, they don't want T-Mobile customers to churn en masse. By the time they turn off the 1700MHz band most customers will have already decided to go elsewhere or will have upgraded to an AT&T phone by then. Of all the worries people have about this merger, this is the one that carries the least weight. T-Mobile phones will work just FINE. By the time it will stop working at 3G/4G speeds, you will have already upgraded to whatever is new and hot then. And if you haven't, you'll be eligible to upgrade anyways, and I'm sure AT&T's loyalty department will have good offers to save customers.

2-3 years, NO WAY! You think ATT would say their 4G roll out will take another 2-3 years, nope! They've already said their 4G roll out is dependent on this buy out.
And where would TMO customers go, Sprint? 🤣 They won't have much of a choice. The FCC & DOJ can put on a front that they're going to scrutinize this buy out but the fact is the Government has said they want to bring broadband internet to everyone and wireless is the way to do that. I think it'll happen quicker than you think.

Most analysts have pointed out that AT&T's deployment of LTE on the AWS band would take about 5 years. They can prepare the towers without turning them off, so why would they turn them off and lose a ton of customers. Do you think AT&T cares about rushing their LTE? I can assure you they are much more interested in making money, and when a bunch of customers cancel, you lose money. They can do both the LTE rollout and leave the current towers on at the same time, so why wouldn't they?
