Switching from Verizon to T-Mobile
With Verizon we had 2 lines (shared plan) plus the broadband (Mifi)
We had been with Verizon for about 10 yrs, they pulled a really boner so are very fired.
I signed up with T-Mobile (have a G2 and a Cliq, plus Rocket stick on the way).
Am VERY nervous about cell and broadband coverage.
Does anyone in the forum have any insight as to what we may expected to get for coverage for voice and data? Does T-Mobile have a good partnership with the other tower owners?
Thanks
I am so hoping that T-Mobile works for us! NOT going back to Verizon.....idiots.
Thank you for your reply!
I would rather pay for Sprint's bad customer service than send Verizon any more business.
Take a look at this coverage map. At a glance, it looks as though the west might be an issue if you are truly "all over". Most people say this and it just is not true. Good luck in any case.
Yes, We just hauled a B1 bomber engine to Alaska last month. Granted we haven't been to Novia Scotia or New Brunswick yet, but we have covered the rest of the Canadian provinces.
We did 6,000 miles last week. Portland on Friday, Newark, NJ on Monday, Los Angeles on Wed. and Seattle on Friday. We are government contractors.
So, to add to the information concerning my earlier posting asking for help (not criticism), I received my T-Mobile equipment yesterday (G2, Cliq, and Rocket).
The tmob customer rep was wrong. We do not receive data coverage in our area. I AM going to keep the Rocket stick active to see ...

I have ALL READY referenced the map multiple times....one of those times was while I was speaking to the T-Mobile rep AND his supervisor that signed me with them.
You ARE being met with the same tone that you use. If that chaps your skin drop the contact.
For those that are curious about the coverage we are receiving for the G2, the Cliq XT and the Rocket:
The phone and data coverage for the smartphones have been similar or better than we received through Verizon in WA, ID, MT and SD following along I-90.
I finally was able to connect with the Rocket stick in Sioux Falls SD. (The data map on T-Mobile's site is for cell phone data only NOT broadband) T-Mobile does not have agreements with other servic...

That's pretty good, especially when comparing to VZW.
There are areas in ID, MT and SD that we had problems with no coverage and those areas are the same with T-Mobile. We did have less dropped calls in MT with T-Mobile than what we used to have with Verizon though.
Last time through MT with Verizon I could hardly maintain a connection on a call to our son in Alaska, very frustrating as it was an important call. This time with T-Mobile was not as frustrating.
I like the fact that I can look at the T-Mobile phones and t...

My question was actually in response to an attack by another poster.
Funny, where we live is not in a service area but we are receiving a better signal than we did with Verizon.
But, YES, this will be an experiment. If I am not happy with the coverage I get I will go to Sprint or someone else. Verizon screwed the puppy too badly to go back to.
and ignore that kid hes just another person on here to jump all over people and be a jacka$$ over a question or statement. personally verizons plans are retardedly high for what you get. granted tmobile isnt as big as sprint or at&t but it is getting up there as far as coverage and price's. that was a good move. i have boost and love it. it runs off sprints network so i have coverage everywhere i go. never had a dropped call or crappy service. granted im in the raleigh nc are...

I'm anything but a fan of Verizon. Very funny. Covering 97% of the population is not covering 97% of the country geographically. Why lie to the person just to wind up with a dissatisfied customer in the end. Set true expectations.

Hmmmm......Verizon screwed us over a defective phone after 10 yrs of paying them between $200.00 and $250.00 a mo.. Nope....we will not be returning our business to them.

Sprints CS has been named most improved of all US companies period for 2009-2010, also passed up AT&T, try them for free for 30 days!
