G2:
800mhz proceesor
3G+ but 14.4 mbps is the cap due to processor
3.7inch TFT LCD display (16-bit)
8gb micro included expandable to 32gb
2.2 android out of the box
Physical keypad
5mp camera with flash

Vibrant:
1ghz processor
3G (max around 7-8mbps)
4inch AMOLED display (24-bit)
2.1 android out of box (2.2 unknown)
5mp camera, no flash but has amazing night mode

Both are very comparable. Hard to choose especially since they are the same price either in or out of contract.

IMO they both have pros and cons, and it is not enough to rip them apart.

You really need to look at them closely at the store, and get a rep that is not bias.

I have the Vibrant, love the phone! G2 is a contender, but i am not dropping my Vibran...

Actually, this is an easy decision for me:

G2 - running on HSPA+ (which will be faster than broadband in the next year).

Vibrant - suck on 3g(although it will be a bit faster as HSPA+ is expanded, it will still be limited)

G2 - Full keyboard
Vibrant - all touch

G2 - expanded front side bus which runs data much more quickly than the Vibrant

I have worked for T-mo about 8 months now and although I currently have an HD2, I would trade it in a heartbeat for the G2. The speed difference alone is VERY impressive.

I concur,

The screen on the G2 isn't quite as vibrant as the ummmm....Vibrant. (Perhaps that's why they gave the phone it's name)

Other than that..it's a hands down choice for the G2.

I would not be suprised to see a variant of the Vibrant come out within the next few months that took advantage of a dual front end bus like the G2 as well as being HSPA + compatible. Until then..I can't think of another phone that I'd prefer.(although I'm anxious to see how the Galaxy Tab turns out)

ya that tab looks pretty sick, but if they want to make sales on it they better offer a better price than sprint and verizon or offering. i have enough hard finding people willing to pay for a vibrant or g2

I am so undecided! I work for a local agent and the Vibrant looks great! I am not in a 3G area much less in a 4G area. I just have a hard time choosing between the two models. Both have great features and perks. I also read that the Vibrant is finally getting the Froyo 2.2 update. I see how the HTC G2 performs *awesome* but how will the Vibrant perform with the new Froyo update? Common sense will tell me that the Vibrant would whip the G2. Please help! 🤨
