how is it that the first carrier in the world to get android cant seem to get a decent android powered phone? Ever other carrier has passed them and continues to pass them with one bad ass device after another? Typical t-mo, always getting getting the short end of the stick.

Not to be mean, but why don't you build one yourself? T-Mobile has the HTC HD2, Nexus One, and a few other Android powered devices that are actually quite good. T-Mobile doesn't make the devices too much. They make the network the devices operate on. HTC and other manufacturers need to stop releasing and re-releasing the same crap with a different name for T-Mo.

The unfortunate part about T-Mo is the fact that they need to learn how to advertise better. The reason why a lot of people (including yourself) think other carriers have better Android devices (such as Verizon's Droid) is because of the better advertising.

That and the fact that the government needs to hurry their slow annoying butts off the AWS spectrum that T-Mo needs to bui...

also remember TMO has some of the best prices for service so some other areas may suffer a bit like R&D or advertising so that they can provide better service just a thought i may be wrong

TMO will never spend as much as Verizon spends on advertising. Its just not going to happen. Tmobile as THE best android phones. Period. Plus this year they will be rolling out several new android phones as well. (see the front news page for the Garmin phone).

The HD2 is not an Android phone and the Nexus One is not a T-Mobile phone (it works on the network but it's not sold through T). The specs on the upcoming myTouch Slide are not as good as the upcoming "Incredible" on Verizon or the "Evo" on Sprint. AT&T has the iPhone and a new one coming out in a couple months. The Garmon phone? It's like Dell releasing a brand new computer running Windows XP as opposed to Windows 7... Android 1.6 is a step backwards.

If the runors are true, T-Mobile WILL have the "Galaxy S" soon and that should make up for the lack of decent Android phones.

But saying that T-Mobile has the BEST Android phones? Not even close.

LOL... T-mobile has been the staple for Android. There is a reason why it took everyone else to release a Android almost a year later. Mark this down take a note. T-mobile will alway be the carrier with the most and best Androids.

What exactly does Tmo offer that's better than the Moto Droid?
5mp cam, Android 2.1, big 3.7in screen, I'm curious what does Tmo offer that comes even close to the Moto Droid?

Tmo has some catching up to do with Android, the kind of catching up that involves words like "high-end"

As a T-Mobil fan and employee, as well as an Android fan, I have to disagree. T-Mobile is now way behind the competition as far as Android goes. The Incredible and the EVO to be specific. I'm not even counting the Droid, since its not significantly better. The myTouch slide that is coming out will be an improvement no doubt, with Sense Espresso and a faster processor, but I would love for T-Mobile to release a phone with Android and a 1GHz processor...

The Nexus One is absoulutely a TMO phone! Just because its not sold by TMO agents doesnt make it any less of a TMO phone. If you knew ANYTHING about the Nexus One, you would know that it is ONLY available (for ANY carrier) from the Google website ... its a condition placed by GOOGLE, and has nothing to do with anything else. On another note, there are very few android phones right now that have a higher OS than 1.6 with ALL carriers, not just TMO. The updates for the OS first come from google, then the phone manufacturer and finally the carrier. Most are set to be updated BY the end of the first half of 2010.

ya this isn't about t-mobile manufacturing phones, their prices or anything like that. this has to do with the phones they carry. and in my opinion the best android phone they have is the mytouch. and it is not worth $400. its slow, sluggish and feels like a toy out of a cracker jack box. the hd2 is WM and the nexus one isn't even sold in stores. the point is they are behind even though they had a year start on everyone. You can advertise the mytouch all you want but it still feels and works like a cheaply made phone. plastic and more plastic.

Now although I agree with you that T-Mobile is behind on its Android offerings, the myTouch isn't at all like you describe it. Certain high end apps might slow it down, but I have a myTouch and I have to say it runs pretty damn smoothly for me. And it doesn't feel cheap at all. Its been quite sturdy and I've beat the crap out of it dropping it out of my car and onto tile floors and down my stairs a couple of times. Only other smartphone I've owned that held up this well is the Blackberry 8320, which was a tank.

check out Samsung Galaxy S (T959), MyTouch
Slide, Sidekick Twist, and possibly the Nexus One very soon.

T-Mobile seems to take more time to actually launch new devices because of there different testing system they use on possible new phones to the line up. i think there's a video floating around on youtube about the tests the HD2 and the mytouch went through.
