will t-mobile coverage improve in select markets since t-mobile and cingular have shared cell tower agreements in markets like California or New York?

We also shared some sites with AT&T so this merger SHOULDNT change anything as far as T-Mobiles coverage is concerned. However, with the huge market that Cingular will now have, they may decide to do away with the roaming agreement with T-Mobile. Please dont take this as a rumer because this is only a thought that i have had and discussed with some teemates here, we have heard nothing though... It is really way too soon to speculate anything yet but im sure we'll know somethin gin the near future. All i know for sure is that Cingular took on a 41 billion dollar headache this week and hopefully T-Mobile will benefit from this.

With the merger, I think the coverage will stay the same. The roaming agreements that we signed in the past are with ATT and Cingular will stay in effect.

T-Mobile has always had a very good relationship with Cingular. I think that we would probably have better coverage becuase now they will have access to AT&T's coverage. Just a thought..... 😉

We actually have roaming with AT&T as well, so I'm assuming the agreements will stay in place when AT&T and Cingular become Cinguliath. I suppose there's always a possibility that the agreements we have could be taken away if Cinguliath decides it's too good for us, but with the amt of debt purchasing AT&T will cause, I think they'll take any extra money they can.

I'm actually kinda surprised we've maintained a good relationship with Cingular after that whole California thing.

Summer 2002:

Ummm... Cingular? Can we use your towers in California? We'll be good to them, I promise! We'll let you use ours in New York... I promise the coverage is better in New York then what most people say...

WHAT? You will?? Really?? Excellent.

Autumn 2002:

Oh hi Cingular. Thanks for the roaming agreement. Yeah, sorry we made an incredibly good rate plan that we don't even make money on just to steal all your customers. How are your customers liking the New York area? Yeah.. Kinda sucks I know. Well, don't worry, now that you have rights to all of our old towers, we're going to build-up our coverage with ne...

possible conclusion:

spring 2005:
cingular is enjoying its new sprectrum in new york and feels that it no longer needs t-mo. it decides to end their partnership in california.

summer 2005:
Cingular realizes it now has too much debt to go without the roaming agreement with T-Mobile, begs T-Mopile to start it again, then sells its soul to Vodaphone.
